Farm and Food Book Week 2024

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom is excited to host the fourth annual Farm and Food Book Week! Plan to join us on Zoom, February 20-23, 2024 at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. each day for virtual agriculture-themed book readings by special guest readers.

Tales of a Dairy Godmother 9:00 AM

Emma Kuball, Princess Kay of the Milky Way, will be reading one of her favorite dairy-themed books, Tales of a Fairy Godmother. In this book, the dairy godmother takes Chuck on a memorable and delicious adventure to a dairy farm. He finds out exactly where ice cream comes from and gains an even deeper love and appreciation for his favorite food.

Levi's Lost Calf 10:00 AM

Mackenzie Kuschel is a Minnesota FFA State Officer who has grown up on a fourth generation beef ranch. She is reading the book, Levi’s Lost Calf by Amanda Radke. This story follows Levi on a beef ranch as he searches for his missing calf.

Karin Costa, a Minnesota author, will be reading her book, Growing French Fries, a book that explores how french fries are produced and the work involved by the farmers who produce them for everyone to enjoy!

Patrice Bailey, Assistant Commissioner, will be reading Harlem Grown, a true story about how a man with a dream transformed an abandoned lot into a garden that feeds a neighborhood in New York City.

Don Wick, a Minnesota farm broadcaster, will be reading The Day the Farmers Quit, about a boy who works to get the farmers in his town to return from their vacation after seeing how much their town needs agriculture.
